Conversations with Juliana

She talks so much now and a series of statements sometimes has little in common, for example: "Put on my footie pajamas, go to Disney World, sit on couch with Daddy" - everythig she is thinking comes spilling out all at once.

Juliana was eating dinner one night and I looked into the living room to see one of the cats on the coffee table.
Me: Kitty, get down

Juliana: Kitty listen to Mommy?

Me: Yes, Kitty has to listen to Mommy just like Juliana

Juliana: And Daddy has to listen to Mommy...or he will get in big trouble!

My mom has a Blackberry now and Juliana is fascinated with it. She asks where her Blackberry is. We were in BabysRUs one day and she heard a phone ring and she yelled, "Someone's Blackberry is ringing."

Whenever I rake the leaves, Juliana wants to use the rake - this really slows down the process. So ordered a shovel and rake set from Little Tikes. It is so cute and perfectly sized for her. She was so excited when she saw the big box - pulled out the shovel - "my shovel" and then pulled about the rake and announced, "I don't need a big fork."

I Do It - Shiny Shoes

Juliana likes to take her shoes off - in the car, in her high chair, in the shopping cart, and when she is sitting on the floor to play with toys - and the socks usually come off as well. But she can put them on herself and she puts each one on the correct foot.

One morning this week, she kept telling me that she wanted to wear her "tiny shoes". Then she pointed at the shoes that she wanted and apparently she had been saying "shiny shoes".

She can count to 10 herself, although she usually skips #4.

She can say the alphabet, strong though the letter P, and then she sometimes she becomes distracted and quits at that point.

2-year Check-up

Juliana had her 2-yr check-up last week. She weighs only 26 lbs (30th %tile) and is 35-1/2" tall (90th%tile).

We are really enjoying the table and chairs that we gave Juliana for her birthday. She sits and draws with her markers and plays with play-doh.

Bitty Baby got a high chair for Juliana's birthday. As you can see Juliana enjoys feeding Bitty, but she also likes to have a bottle of pretend juice for herself. Bitty often joins Juliana at the table and Juliana puts some play-doh on the high chair tray for Bitty to play with.

Halloween Monkey

Juliana was very excited to get dressed in her costume. We did a quick practice run at home - of course she wanted to open the treat right away...

After about 4 houses, she sat down on the sidewalk to go through her bucket of treats - she seemed satisfied with what she had already. Then we walked some more. We spent about 45 minutes out walking and stopped at about 20 houses. She was ready to go home at that point.

She had lots of fun and had no fear about knocking on doors and talking to people. She was especially excited if there were dogs or cats that she could see and pet.
