Naptime

I announced that it was naptime and she grabbed a blanket, spread it out on the living floor and curled up. Too cute not to snap a quick picture!

18-month Check-up and "Injuries"

Juliana had her 18-month check-up on Thursday (4/26). All is well. I was expecting a shot-free visit, but they have just added HepA to the recommended 12-23 months immunization list. So 1 quick shot.

Official Stats
Weight: 23 lbs. 3 oz. (40th percentile)
Height: 33-1/2 in. (95th percentile)

At 18-months she weighs less that the lower weight range for Carter's 18-mo clothes, yet she is an inch taller than the height range...Can't wait for those adjustable waistbands... she will be wearing lots of short dresses and shorts that are maybe a bit too short...
She came home from daycare with her first large bump on the head last Monday. And then Tuesday she came home with a bite impression on her right arm. It happened while they were playing outside and she never cried so they don't know who was involved.

Juliana is 18-months Old

Can you believe it? 1-1/2 years old! Time to get the bear out again. She was more interested in playing with the bear and then reading a book.

For comparison...here she was 1 year ago...

Bitty Baby Gets to Play Outside

Juliana took Bitty outside to play and insisted that she swing in the other swing and she had to hold onto the other swing as well. Bitty also went down the slide which was met with shrieks of delight. Soon Juliana was ready for some climbing and left Bitty in the grass.

Hot

Juliana and I were shopping at SAM's Club. I realized that I was getting warm, so I said to Juliana, "you must be getting hot" and unzipped her coat. She started blowing on her shirt and if she were blowing on hot food to cool it off.

So she must have been hot...

ME

A new favorite word this week and one that I expect we will be hearing a lot in the coming months. Soon to be combined into the phrase - me do it...

I think that she is trying to figure out what it means, but she is yelling "Me" when she is playing and I try to get her to do something boring like get dressed.

Starting to push to be more independent and do things when she wants...the tantrums continue, but she quickly realizes that she is being ignored and gets off the floor.

Waiting for Nonni

Juliana loves to watch out the window and run to the front door when someone is coming to visit. She was waiting for Nonni on Thursday and I decided that she would be more patient with a seat, snack and drink to keep her busy.

Playing Ballerina

Last spring, Mom and I were at Grove City shopping for the day (I don't think we have been there since...have to remedy that soon); and we decided to get a dance outfit for Juliana. We found the smallest size and it finally fits. I found the slippers last fall on clearance for a few $'s so they are perfect for some dress-up fun!

She had lots of fun "dancing" and playing in the tutu.

Easter Sunday

We woke up early to get to church at 8:00. Juliana is teething and has a cold so she was a bit on the fussy side all day. Juliana wore her new sleeveless Easter dress and white shoes. She was so happy with the shoes! It was snowing so she also had to wear a sweater over it and her winter coat and hat.

After church Juliana played with her Easter bucket and then she and Scott had naptime.

Then we went to Nana and Papa Bill's for the afternoon. Uncle Erik, Uncle Sean, Aunt Amy, Jake and Sara were also there. We had yummy ham for dinner and the kids played with the toys in the easter baskets, puzzles and match box cars. It is always nice when Juliana gets to play with her cousins!

Welcome

Welcome to the new blog which will feature the Continuing Adventures of Little Bean (otherwise known as Juliana) and the people in her life. Rather than filling your inboxes with pictures and stories, I will post them here.
