Ponytail and random comments

Juliana's hair is getting so long. She usually doesn't want me to pull it up, she prefers to have it down so she can shake it :)

Not sure what we are going to do for the summer, but for now it is long enough to pull back in a ponytail!

A few random Juliana comments and stories:

She loves to open the freezer (we have a lower pull-out freezer so it is very accesible for her) - recently she pulled out the Cool Whip, came running to me and said, "I want pie!"

Last Saturday Juliana and I headed out to run some errands. Conversation along the way

J: This isn't the way to school

M: No, we aren't going to school, we are going shopping

J: Yeah, today isn't a school day, it's a Shopping Day

So her love of shopping continues as long as it includes riding the Merry-Go-Round and the train at the mall.

This conversation took place while she was drawing with Nonni last week.

N: Is that a "J" for Juliana

J: for Juliana and Mommy (Jennifer) and Grandma Julie

N: What about Jack and Justin (friends at school)?

J: No, "J" is just for girls

An Impromptu Parade

My home office turned shared scrap room and Juliana play area has foam squares with letters that can be removed and rearranged. One day after school, Juliana pulled up a bunch of letters and gave one to each of us (Mommy, Daddy, Nonni and G). Then she announced that we were having a parade and started marching around the house and insisted that we all follow.

Easter

We started Easter Day with 8:00 am church. While I was getting everything ready to go, I put Little Einsteins on to keep her occupied and snapped this picture of Juliana sitting calmly all ready for church.

After service we visited with friends and Juliana enjoyed a cupcake. She also showed us how to hop like a bunny.

When we got home she worked on her new Princess Jasmine puzzle with Daddy.

Then I tried to get a nice picture of Juliana in her Easter dress.

She got an Easter bucket from Mommy and Daddy with paint, paint brushes, band-aids, play-doh, and a few treats. I love the picture of her sitting with her legs crossed and her shoes picking out from her dress.

After lots of playtime, Juliana finally took a nap. Then we had Easter dinner at our house with Scott's parents, my parents and Aunt Nancy. Yummy dinner and desert, Juliana spent most of the dinner running around the living room. She was still so wound up after dinner that we sent her outside with G to run around before her bath and bedtime.

Easter Dress Preview

I haven't had time to sort through the 100+ pictures from Easter to find the good ones. Hopefully I will get through them and post in the next day or two. I tried to take a nice picture of Juliana in her Easter Dress - here's some photos of what happens when I want Juliana to hold still for a picture. This is typical of recent photo shoots - the St. Patrick's Day picture - 15 photos and multiple breaks plus a snack to achieve that one good picture.

Easter Eggs

Friday morning, Juliana, Daddy, Mommy and Nonni dyed Easter Eggs. Juliana got right into it by coloring her first egg with the crayon with scribbles. She started out using the egg holder to move the egg around and was very intent on the process. Later on she just used her hands and they were a lovely shade of green-blue by the time we were done.

In this case - Thanks Uncle Nick and Aunt Becky! Juliana loved her surprise box of Easter treats. She had lots of fun pulling the packing materials out and scattered the packing peanuts along the hallway. She wanted to eat the cookie right away :)
