Children's Museum with G

My Mom stayed home with us when we young so we had plenty of one-on-one time with her.  Since my Dad was at work all day, I loved when I would get to go on an adventure with him.  As Juliana has gotten older, she has been going on adventures with my Dad - and I love that!  She loves the dedicated attention that she doesn't get much of at home since the boys arrived.

When I realized that school was closed for MLK day last Monday and I had to work, I knew that my Dad had the day off and asked if he wanted to take Juliana on an adventure.  He came up with some ideas and presented them to her, when he got to the Children's Museum she started screaming and jumping up and down.

So last Monday they went on their outing.  They spent the first hour in the water room - good thing I sent dry clothes.  And she climbed the maze and the net, and the slide, and painted and had a great time!

Another thing I love...my Dad takes pictures whenever he has Juliana - good pictures.  So even though I am missing out on the fun, I get to see how much fun she had.  Thanks Dad!

The New Bike

When Scott and I were out for our anniversary, we went to dinner and did some shopping. Our last stop was Target (are you thinking, seriously Target on your anniversary date...just remember I don't get to leave the house without children very often, so this shopping time was a luxury). Juliana had outgrown her tricycle and I had been thinking about buying a bike, so it wasn't completely an impulse when we passed the bikes and I announced that we were buying one...plus it is purple and pink.

We decided that she should earn the bike. Scott found a stack of 8 carnival tickets and we agreed that she would earn a ticket when she was mostly good that day (perfectly good and the bike would still be in the box). The first day we told her about the tickets and that there would be a surprise when she collected all 8. She was so good and very excited to collect her 1st ticket. The next day she was soooo bad and therefore no ticket; and she told me she would rather be bad than have a ticket...she would just get her 2nd ticket the next day. Each day she got a ticket she would tell me how many she had and how many she needed to add up to 8. When she earned her last ticket I told her that her surprise was a bike.

Juliana - A bike!!! Is it a Dora bike?
Me: No, even better, it's purple and pink.
Juliana: Is it a purple and pink Dora bike?

Thursday after school her bike was assembled and waiting. She counted her 8 tickets out and hopped on her bike. She is still getting the hang of peddling and driving straight at the same time. She has her fist bike related scraped knee from an over-steering fall.

4th of July Festivites

Juliana had a busy holiday weekend. It started with the annual 3rd of July party at Aunt Natalae's house in a new holiday dress.

Saturday, Daddy took her to Forest Hills 63rd Annual Community Day (one of the many things we love about Forest Hills). She fed goats at the petting zoo, rode a pony for the first time, played in the park, and rode the train ride.

She took a long nap in the afternoon so she could stay up late. G took her to the Monroeville fireworks.

The Past Few Weeks

Juliana has been spending her weekdays at school and we have been doing our best to entertain her during the other times. She is still adjusting to life with the boys in our home, wanting lots of extra attention, etc.

Her present from the boys when they were born was a Leapster and it has turned out to be a great idea - some quiet independent play.

Juliana loves to help in the kitchen, one evening she made muffins with Nonni. And she enjoys helping me make the formula for Wyatt - she helps put all of the lids on the bottles.

She likes holding the boys, but only for a few minutes and then she is done and needs to get up to do something else. She still thinks that she should be able to carry them, so we have to keep reminding her that she needs to sit and hold them.

Last week she found a dice game (LCR) and wanted to know how to play. G made up a simple way for the 2 of them to play and it became an instant favorite.
