Welcome Spring

The arrival of spring brightened the moods of everyone in Pittsburgh and Juliana is especially happy to be able to run outside without a coat.

She is happy to share her swingset with the boys as long as she occasionally gets a turn.

Learning to Help

Juliana has suddenly started to be more helpful - great timing! As we are sorting out the boxes of kitchen stuff and finding a home for everything, we are taking advantage of that by storing all of her snacks, drinks, cups, etc. in drawers and shelves that she can reach. She noticed that the upstairs water dish for the cats was empty and filled it all by herself. Hopefully she will want to help out with the babies as well.

I made a no sew tutu this past week with 7 yards of pink, lavender and purple tulle (idea from Burgh Baby).
Yesterday I took her to the playground. Juliana would be happy to spend an hour there everyday. I get bored after 5 minutes, especially when I am just standing there pushing her on the swing. This was probably our last Mommy-Daughter solo outing for a little while as we adjust to life with the boys. I'm sure that she will talk G into lots of trips to the playground in the meantime.

Playground

We went to a birthday party at a wonderful playground (unfortunately it is all the way in the South Hills, so not convenient to visit often). Juliana was running from swings to slides to climbing areas and back to swings - she would have happily stayed there much longer.

Dance

We signed Juliana up for dance class - I am probably much more excited about this than she is... The class is called "4Fun" - it is for ages 2-1/2 - 3-1/2, so it is the perfect age range for her. The class will include all 4 (hence 4Fun) dance areas - Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Gym.

We went to the open house on Thursday, and she was running around the dance studio asking where all of the other kids were so they could start the class.

She told me that she loves to spin and spinning is her "favorite thing in the whole world". I think that she will enjoy the class. It starts Sept 10th. In the meantime we need to buy leotards, ballet slippers and tap shoes!

Bitty Baby Gets to Play Outside

Juliana took Bitty outside to play and insisted that she swing in the other swing and she had to hold onto the other swing as well. Bitty also went down the slide which was met with shrieks of delight. Soon Juliana was ready for some climbing and left Bitty in the grass.
